The Royal's Manifesto

13/07/2011...This is my first visit at We Write Poems, they chose Viv‘s  prompt to use another' s voice and point of view...I'm sharing an poem, written previously.

Inspiration for this prose came from One Stop Poetry's "One Shoot Sunday" [interview with JackAZ Photography]. I found myself thinking about my old typewriter and its history, from the soul of "her" point-of-view! As a teenager, I vividly remember the day my uncle gifted me with a vintage Underwood typewriter. Oh, how I marveled at her beauty! I fell in love with its charm on that day and have been typing ever since.

The Royal's Manifesto

Eh, what’s that you say?
You want me to be in your movie?
He, he, he….
Imagine an old girl like me in the movies.
Oh my, what’s that?
I’ll get new ribbons, and my broken keys will be fixed?
Well, my goodness…
Who could say "no" to that?
It’s been many years since I have felt useful.
Now you and so many others, I might add,
want the pleasure of my company.
He, he, he…I feel like Betty White…lol!

Everything old is new again, I guess.
Come again?
Oh my, well now, they complained of ink on their hands,
keys sticking and would you believe, they blamed me…
when they were the ones who made the spelling mistakes
…ungrateful lot.
Oh, the names they called me…well,
I’m too much of a lady to repeat such language.
And they called themselves writers …ha!

Romantic me?
Is that what they say about us now?
My, my, if you only knew the stories I could share.
If they could of only known how important we were.

Perhaps they will now.
Lets begin , shall we?

Leaving A Trace

Leaving A Trace

We seldom ever see
beyond our own reside
The wonders that surround us
are too often held inside.

But once I journey inward
When I find I’m all  alone
The words appear as if by magic
As if my heart has find it’s home

Writing creates focus and allows me the space to find my
authentic self. I can be transformed by the many insights
I  discover by keeping a journal. My unedited script
from within is no longer held hostage by my mind
chatter when I enter the safe haven of journaling and
poetry writing. Getting to know myself through writing
is truly a wonderful adventure.  A gift to ones self.
By filling the empty pages with my innermost opinions,
expectations and stories along with the simple
details of everyday life, creates focus and connection to
life itself. Putting pen to paper takes me on a quest,
a journey of the self, that will reveal who I truly am.

Putting my innermost thoughts down on paper,
helps me figure out how I feel and this has helped
me make meaningful changes in my life. The
written word exposes our deepest desires and
our greatest fears. It enables me to see things
with clarity, so that I may continue on my way.
Everyone can realize this, simple by leaving a trace.

Tanka

Rays of comfort streak
Glimmering warmth enhancing
Over countryside
Fields of harvest beaming hot
Graced with solar reverence

An attempt at Tanka and one of the hardest forms I've ever tried.

The Tempting Lure

The morning air unlocks the gloom
While whimsical strings conjure a tune

Slight of hand
As he began

What trickery is this that arises?
As despair steals in and surprises

Alas a shattered broken spell
As once, a humbled man did tell

Now lost in ego
As darkness steels light
Pain incensed startled fright

Daylights’ offer reveals the absurd
For darkness succeeds the tempting lure

An Unfinished Fairy Fable

An Unfinished Fairy Fable

Isabeau delights in a magical dance
in the twilight of the moonlight under
a canopy of billions of glittering stars.
The mysterious Fay waves her
magic wand, and, behold!
a golden glow illuminates the forest.
As nightfall envelops the garden,
shimmering fireflies and
incandescent woodland creatures appear.
The forest fills with excitement,
as pixie fairies transform the
garden patch into a shimmering
brilliance that is other-worldly.
The spicy cedar fills the air...
baubles and treats hang from the evergreens.
Take a deep breath in…
allow the crisp air to evoke
childhood memories and fill you with joy!
As the sprites sip from the gleaming magic fountain,
they sense a presence off in the distance.
Two radiant Sapphire diamonds return their gaze.
Moonlight glistens across the garden,
creating a golden glow of enchantment,
as it reflects in the luminous eyes of Navarre.
The forest is becalmed with silence.

The formless divine guardian safeguards
all spirits in the sphere of sleep.
The forest now slumbers in calm trust
while fanciful dreams transpire.

As Navarre awakens, he searches
the bright morning sky.
Memories hold fast as last night's
celebrations linger close to his heart.
There, so high, LadyHawke soars above
the meandering paths, gazing down at
Navarre from the distant outlying blue.
A ghost-like image in his mind's eye
reveals the beautiful terrestrial Isabeau
walking close beside him as they
cross the forest floor.
Yet now, in the light of day,
she is no longer earthbound, and she flies as
an unrestricted captive.

Blind Trust

~Thoughts from nature's perspective regarding the oil spill in the gulf~

Blind Trust

Who are we?

We float free.

Who are they?

They regret the day.

Who are we?

We fly free.

Who are they?

They weep and pray.

Who are we?

We run free.

Where are they?

They have lost their way.

Loves Arrival

❀༻♥ ༺❀༻♥ ༺❀༻♥

Submerge yourself in love
While long awaiting stillness soothes
There is no eluding loves touch
Felt within the gentle trust
Love arrives once more
And fills your heart so full
As you once again
Submerge yourself in love.

Beyond The Veil

Beyond The Veil

She came while I was resting
Spoke softly as I slept
Quiet tears of rapture
In dark silence, I wept.

Her essence did not threaten,
Her grace felt deep within
Her eyes conveyed such tenderness,
She chose to now begin.

She first appeared in shades of grey
Eyes downcast, colors dull.
But as she moved much closer,
Her being glowed with love.

I sensed a tinge of fear,
As she reached for my embrace
Her touch with kind caress
Cupped my hands up to her face.

Tears filled her eyes to full,
In her presence I felt safe.
This lady from the past
Transcended time and space.

She answered many queries
As trust and compassion grew,
She spoke of many things
That in my heart I knew were true.

When she turned to leave,
I saw the essence of her light.
The grey cast had been lifted
Replaced by colors bright.

Not only in my dreams
Will these miracles be found,
For our hearts with love eternal
Are now forever bound.
